Oxygen-enriched top-blowing submerged lance bath smelting technology (TSL technology) includes ISA process and Ausmelt process, both of which use vertical cylindrical metallurgical furnace. Oxygen-enriched air is blown into bath through lances positioned at furnace top to complete chemical reaction. This technology is characterized with strong adaptability to different feeds, flexible operation and high smelting intensity, etc. The TSL furnace usually operates together with settling furnace. TOMINE has designed 9 smelters using TSL technology, with concentrate throughput over 5600kt/a.
Top-blowing converting technology, invented based on top-blowing smelting technology, also adopts vertical cylindrical metallurgical furnace. Oxygen-enriched air is blown into bath through lances positioned at furnace top to enable reaction of matte and production of blister. This technology is featured with large converting intensity, high oxygen enrichment, small offgas volume and small footprint, etc. The company has designed 2 smelters using top-blowing continuous converting technology.
